Worktree Desktop
Get started with local projects, shared threads, and your own AI providers.
Worktree is a desktop app for working on software with AI and other people. The current alpha is 0.1.0-alpha.1, built on OpenCode. Projects run on a computer you control. Sharing lets approved collaborators work with a project on its host computer.
You do not need a Worktree account. Your sharing identity belongs to your desktop installation. Worktree's current alpha is free; your AI provider's charges and subscription terms still apply.
Start locally
- Open Worktree and add a project folder from Home or Settings → Local Server → Projects.
- Open Settings → Local Server → Providers and connect a supported provider.
- Create a new session, choose the project and model, and send your first message.
- Review changes in the session before committing or publishing them.
See Downloads for public build availability. Signed public installers are not available yet; request a demo to try Worktree with your team.
Work with someone else
The host enables sharing for a project and sends you an invitation code. Join from Settings → Shared projects, then wait for the host to approve your device. Approval and permissions apply to that project.
Each participant connects their own AI provider on their own computer. In a shared thread, project tools execute on the host; model inference uses the sender's provider connection.
